Sports Medicine

Appleton Area School District partners with ThedaCare  to provide our WIAA student-athletes continuous sports medicine expertise during the off-season and throughout the year.

This sports medicine staff provides athletic training (diagnosis, treatment, rehabilitation) for all injuries to help our student-athletes heal and strength and conditioning coaching to help them to excel. These highly specialized experts deliver comprehensive, continuous care with a personal understanding of the needs of high school student-athletes. 

Services for AASD Student-Athletes

  • Injury prevention/evaluation/treatment
  • Concussion management
  • Emergency care
  • Physical therapy
  • Movement analysis
  • On-site training sessions for performance improvement
  • Assist in referrals to outside care when required

Benefits to Families

  • Continuous care available during school hours and throughout practices and games
  • No charge for on-site services
  • Constant communication between the coaches and sports medicine staff and the student and their family

If your child has suffered a potentially serious sports injury, contact 911. For less serious concerns, contact your school's athletic trainer to coordinate ongoing care.
